De Miller

De Miller (http://www.demiller.com/) is a former newspaperman now living in Mount Dora, Florida.  He is the writer, director and producer of Daniel's Lot.

He has been writing for three decades, first as a reporter, photographer and editor for The Kansas City Star and The Kansas City Kansan newspapers, then as the Public Information Officer for the Wyandotte County Commissioners.   Over the years as a freelancer, he has had material published in such diverse publications as Crafting MagazineThe Sporting News and The National Enquirer. Among other writing accomplishments, he wrote the script for and produced two direct-to-video comedy movies starring Jerry Mathers and Tiny Tim; and wrote the scripts for and directed a series of children’s videos and wrote scripts for informational videos for the county government.

Since moving to Florida, De became become intrigued with the local stories involving historical figures from Meyer Lansky, Al Capone and Napoleon Hill to a local doctor said to be the inspiration for the fictional character Indiana Jones.   Most of these tales are nothing more than local lore, he say, but, these bits of lore do make for interesting stories and De’s two completed fact-based novels, Murder in Mount Dora and Mobsters in Mount Dora, are based on some of those local stories.

De is a full time writer and entrepreneur, and together with his wife, Sue, they have connected with their friends at Faith and Power Worship Center to start a movie ministry. Faith & Power Pictrures was born in the early summer of 2009 to bring Daniel’s Lot – the story that De himself credits as being  ”written by the Lord” – to the Big Screen.
